Kai Cresswell I have been working with Jamie since June 2008, specifically with the aim to lose weight and gain strength for snowboarding, skiing and kiteboarding. The improvements I have found have been fantastic. I have lost a stone in weight, and my fitness levels increased significantly which enabled me to do a lot more of the sports I love so much. The fitness work from June to December for snowboarding let me start the season from where I left off a year ago and I could stay on the slopes all day from day one. The stretching and foam rolling kept me fresh for the next day and this season I managed four weeks of full days on the snow.
Jennifer CleggIn the year since I started working with Jamie some minor health problems caused by middle-aged spread have disappeared: I have become 2 stone lighter, stronger and more agile. I am growing used to friends saying “Goodness, you look well, how much weight have you lost? How did you do it?” Usually I declare “Iron discipline!” then moan about how much it is costing me in new clothes. The truth of this life-change is that it has indeed required some discipline, but weekly personal training for the past 8 months has been crucial too. The seemingly infinite variation of PT is a real help in maintaining my interest, but Jamie’s approach to sessions is also important. Four aspects of the way he works suit me well:
My long-term project is shifting away from weight-loss towards grace and balance. I will soon go to watch the ballet in London, with renewed admiration for the way that the dancers stand on one leg. Sarah TreanorAfter a great holiday down under last December, I looked at my holiday photos. I was unhappy with what I saw, bits I thought were a un-toned, were now flabby, areas I thought were a bit large were now massive – I had to take action! I’d been a member of a gym for a while but each time I had a schedule drawn up it keep me going for a few weeks before ‘something’ cropped up and I started to miss sessions and get back into the old habits. I answered an advert for personal training with Jamie and came to meet him. We chatted, talked through things I was unhappy with about myself, my goals, where I wanted to be in timescales, what I liked/what I didn’t like and what the next step was. I felt he understood my goals and had plenty of ideas to keep me from getting bored or losing my motivation, like so often in the past. I decided to try it for a month and decide after that whether we would carry on. I was weighed, measured and we chatted again through areas I wanted to improve, knowing how flabby you really are in cm, does help motivate I can assure you! We worked through January and into February and on into March and after 3 months, we re-measured. I’m pleased to say things have changed shape for the better, I’ve lost a stone since January, I can now do weights and exercises I never thought I would enjoy and most of all, I now like coming to the gym, rather than viewing it as a chore, its fun, I feel better afterwards and I’m starting to push myself with Jamie’s help! I’ve only missed 3 sessions in the 6 months I’ve been having sessions due to illness which for me is a record! Jamie always tries to fit in sessions around my working day which can change a lot and I’ve never not been able to find a time I can train. I would definitely recommend Jamie and personal training as a way to lose weight, improve your health and change your body for the better!
