When we first meet for a consultation, I can gather enough information to start designing your OPT. This will last roughly 30-45 minutes so I can get to know you and vice versa. This is really important as we both need to build a close relationship if we are to achieve your goals. We would then complete a screening form, medical history, weight, blood pressure, BMI, goal setting, kinetic chain assessments and optional body fat test, circumference measurements and nutrition plans. Kinetic chain assessments refers to a head-to-toe fitness and performance evaluation. This assesses an individual’s strengths and weaknesses in the areas of posture, movement, strength, flexibility, and athletic performance. Before embarking on a training program, it is essential to correct any existing imbalances to ensure success. You would then complete a 1 hour workout with me concentrating on getting you closer to your goals. Your training program will always consist of 3 stages which are stabilisation, strength and power and will touch on these key areas:
“NASM’s exclusive Optimum Performance Training method represents the industry’s first and only comprehensive training program based on current scientific research that provides undisputed results specific to individual needs and goals“.(Nasm.org) Nutrition I offer nutritional advice and guidance whilst you are undertake personal training. To maximise your results you need to make overall changes to your eating habits as losing weight and increasing muscle tone is 70% reliant on your nutrition and what you put inside your body. Energy levels will also be affected so you completing a 7 day food diary I can analyse your eating patterns and suggest ways you can eat to help you achieve your goals. The fuel you put into your body will determine the outcome of your acheivements, so eating a healthy balanced diet has never been so important .
